After more delays, Sprint’s Galaxy S III available from all channels starting July 1

I think we’ve finally got it now, the official date that Sprint customers can walk into their local shop and plop down a couple hundo for the Samsung Galaxy S3. According to a post on the Sprint Community Forums, the 16GB version of the GS3 will be available in stores, online, and via telesales starting July 1st. The 32GB handset will be available online and through phone sales only. Pricing remains at $199 and $249 respectively.
There has been some confusion about the phone’s ship date after Sprint delayed the launch of the Galaxy S III on several occasions. The issue was further compounded through the fulfillment (or lack of fulfillment) of certain pre-order sales. For the sake of all those Sprint users awaiting the device, we hope this date sticks. And look on the bright side, at least now you will only have to wait 15 days to enjoy LTE speeds on your new handset.

Dropbox confirms Galaxy S III on AT&T and Verizon won't include 50GB storage

If that extra Dropbox storage helped swing the Galaxy S III pendulum in your favor, and you're a customer of AT&T or Verizon, it's not good news. Droid Life reports that one such expectant customer was asking Dropbox, via its forums, where their storage was. The cloud-space provider informed them that not all carriers are offering the deal, with those two big hitters being among them. This is further confirmed elsewhere on its support pages (check the source). So, just as we thought operators were loosening their grip, it seems some old habits don't die so easily.

Verizon and AT&T Samsung Galaxy S III will not offer 50 GB free Dropbox space

If you were looking to pick up the Samsung Galaxy S III on either Verizon or AT&T, we’ve got some bad news for you. The free 50 GB storage that has been offered to users of the phone around the world will not be provided to customers on the two networks.

Why? Probably because neither the networks, nor Samsung wanted to pick up the tab. While it’s hardly a deal breaker for most people, it does offer an opportunity for T-Mobile, Sprint and other networks such as US Cellular to differentiate themselves a bit. 50 GB on Dropbox is a $100/year value (or $200 over the two years users have access to the space) which could tempt some people who don’t have a preference for a network.

Don’t try older Samsung MHL adapters with the Galaxy S3! It won’t work

Many of you have pre-ordered the US versions of the Samsung Galaxy S3 by now, or already have an international version. And if you have been rocking an older Galaxy S device with the MHL adapter, it is important to note that the cable will not work with your shiny Galaxy S3.

Samsung Galaxy S3 For T-Mobile Pictured – Physical Home Button Intact

Current rumors point to June 20th for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S3 on T-Mobile but questions remain: What kind of processor will it have? Most likely a dual-core S4. RAM? We’re thinking 2GB. More importantly for some… What will the dang thing look like? Well, in typical T-Mobile fashion, it looks like they haven’t requested Samsung to perform any crazy tweaks to the design before it’s released on their network, well — other than the classy branding along its back.

Chipworks, iFixit tear down the Galaxy S III for all to see, spot iPhone 4S' camera sensor hanging around

You've picked up the Galaxy S III. You've grabbed the source code. But you probably like the quad-core monster too much to tear it down, which is why Chipworks and iFixit have taken to disassembling the phone for themselves to look for any surprises. We certainly knew to expect the Exynos 4 Quad and 2,100mAh battery, but we now know how Samsung is claiming a boost to speed and image quality for the 8-megapixel camera: it's using the same Sony-made, backside-illuminated CMOS sensor that we've seen since the Xperia Arc and made its biggest splash in the iPhone 4S. Just don't anticipate replacing many components yourself. That 4.8-inch screen is not only permanently attached to the glass, but to the phone frame, leaving any face-first accidents a dicey fix. We're expecting a few more discoveries once iFixit gives the Galaxy S III a second scan, but the source will give you everything there is to know right now.
